Importing and exporting leads

Bring the leads you already have into Telemantix, and take your data out whenever you want — it's always yours.

Prepare your file

Imports use a CSV file with a header row. Working in Excel or Google Sheets? Use File → Save as / Download → CSV first.

Name (required)The lead's or company's name.
Phone (required)Include the country code for non-Indian numbers, e.g. +971…
EmailOptional; also used to spot duplicates.
NotesOptional; appears on the lead record.
Deal valueOptional number, used for pipeline value.

Columns can have any names — you match them to Telemantix fields in the next step. Extra columns are ignored.

Import

Open Import/Export (or Leads → Import) and choose your CSV file.

Match your columns to Name, Phone, Email, Notes and Deal value. Name and Phone must be matched.

Start the import. You'll see how many leads were created, how many were skipped as duplicates and which rows had errors (with row numbers).

Imported leads get the source CSV Import, are linked to contacts, and are assigned using your lead-assignment setting.

What happens to duplicates

A row whose phone number or email already belongs to a lead in your workspace is skipped rather than creating a second copy. Rows missing a name or phone are listed as errors so you can fix and re-import just those.

Tip: Importing a very large list? Split it into files of a few thousand rows so any errors are easy to find.

Export

In Import/Export → Export, pick the fields you want and the format — CSV (opens in Excel/Sheets) or JSON (for developers). The file contains exactly the columns you chose.

Common issues

“Missing name or phone” on some rows

Those rows have an empty name or phone cell. Fill them in and import just those rows again.

Hindi or other non-English names look garbled

Save the file as “CSV UTF-8” from Excel so special characters are kept.

Fewer leads imported than rows in the file

The rest were duplicates of leads you already have (same phone or email) — the import summary shows the count.

I hit my plan's lead limit

Free includes 500 leads and Pro 2,000. Upgrade in Billing, or remove old test leads first.
